Benefits Insurance Schemes
To help you get the full benefit of all your dental entitlements simply read below, or contact our reception for any help we can offer.
PRSI Social Welfare Scheme
If you are currently employed and paying PRSI you are entitled to a Free dental examination once a year. All other PRSI dental benefits have been abolished in the 2009 Budget since December 31st 2009.
Medical Card Scheme
If you are over 16 years of age and hold a full medical card you are entitled to an examination and two fillings once a year, free of charge.
You are no longer entitled to get your teeth cleaned free of charge.
If you are in pain you are covered for relief of pain.
You must always present your medical card at each visit.
VHI Dental Insurance
This is a Private Dental Insurance scheme operated by VHI
Bupa Quinn Health Care
Private Health Insurance Company which covers a portion of each non-emergancy dental visit and emergency dental treatment following an accident.
St Pauls Garda Medical Aid Scheme
This scheme covers certain aspects of treatment for members of the Garda Siochana
Saturday Hospital Fund
Personal Health Cover from HSF healh plan gives you cash towards a range of everyday health care costs.
Tax Relief
Some of your Dental treatment may qualify for tax relief such as crowns, bridges, veneers, orthodontics, root treatments. Tax Relief is not available for the cost of scaling, extraction and filling of teeth or the provision of artificial teeth or dentures.
This is done by filling out a Med 2 form which your dentist must sign and submitting this to the revenue with Med 1 and P60.
